The shoot takes place on the morning of the same day at Pro Hair Live @ Manchester Central in Manchester.

Ethos is continually searching for cut/colour model bookings at our academy. All services are performed by Ethos trainees and are fully supervised by our experienced team.
The educational environment of model days requires a little extra time than a typical appointment. Please be aware that appointments may take between 1.5-2 hours (cut only) and 2-3 hours (colour) depending on the particular service. We encourage our students to take their time, ensuring an end result that is to the satisfaction of student, educator, and you our model. Please be mindful of this during your appointment and supportive of these students in their learning.
Bookings are essential and dependent on availability. Model days start at 3pm every tuesday however we can offer more flexibility for cutting models.
NOTE: When you call please let the receptionist know that you would like to be a hair model.

. . . She’s done it again… this morning the nation woke up to the wise words of Sharon Peake on BBC Breakfast
Sharon, who frequently works with BBC Radio Manchester, received a phone call yesterday afternoon asking if she would share her opinion as a business woman on the recent debate surrounding the corporation tax law.
As owner of two of Manchester’s premier salons, Ethos Hairdressing in Oldham Street and Chorlton Green, Sharon was asked to come and share her views alongside accounting expert Mitch Hopkinson from the De Vere Group. Sharon pointed out that as a smaller business you have to comply to tax regulations as you don’t have the access to an accounts team to point out the loopholes. Tax avoidance is such a grey area as there currently isn’t a law in place to stop big corporations from taking advantage of this.
Sharon, who is also an Ambassador for hairdressing brand Clynol, has been asked to speak on the programme twice in the past few months on business related issues. She is thrilled to be considered a great business woman and play pundit for the BBC.
“It’s such an honour to have been asked to be a guest speaker on BBC Breakfast, particularly as both times that I have been approached it has been on business related issues. It’s great to see that hairdressing is getting recognised in the business world. This is an amazing opportunity for me and I love being able to represent our industry on national television. As a business woman I think that there should be an even playing field when it comes to taxation. This is obviously a huge issue at the moment and we need to come to some resolution.”
Sharon’s fast showing that not only is she a creative force in the hairdressing industry but she’s also got the business brain to match. She certainly is a woman of many talents.

For the first time in nearly a decade we attending the BHA without the pressure of being finalists, having spent this year promoting the team with our ‘In The Garden’ and ‘Audition’ shoots. So a relaxing evening for us cheering on our favourites.
. . . Lizzie from our Northern Quater salon and Rosie from our Chorlton salon on becoming finalists in the American Crew ‘Face Off’, the biggest mens image competition in the world.

AUDITION
The look was inspired by a fictional group of young men in Miami who want to join ‘The Mob’. They have have been invited to have their portraits taken as if it were an ‘audition’. These guys are very proud with nothing to their name but image is so important to them that they must beg, steal or borrow to acquire the flashiest outfit they can.
The haircuts are designed to look as masculine as possible even on a bob or mop top, focusing on square shapes and strong corners to create a hard edge.
The wedding took place in Chorlton where Bec was on hand to give Kate her perfect bridal hair updo. The couple were photographed on Chorlton Green and were kind enough to pop by the salon for a photo!
Hair up prices start at £33.00 in the salon but outside work is charged per hour including travel time.
It was Bristol bound for Bec recently as she spent another day with the Protégé team as they styled a makeover for Your Hair Magazine. Since winning her place on the national Protégé Team training programme, Bec had the opportunity to work with many famous industry stylists. Bec said “I was taught some great finishing techniques and great tips and tricks to take back to the salon”.

Also with the Protege Team Bec got to attend a PR day at the council academy which involved talks from Nicky Pope the editor-in-chief at Trib-ute magazine and Louise Wood the head of LW.PR. It was a fantastic day that left Bec and the rest of the Protégé team excited for their collection in October.

. . . Anna Piaggi, iconic Italian fashion journalist, has passed away at the age of 81. She, like Isabella Blow, represented the last of a dying breed of women who dressed not to look fashionable or sexy but just for the pleasure of celebrating unique and extraordinary clothes.
“I had the pleasure of meeting Anna backstage at Fashion Week, I wasn’t a name she knew but she was delightful to me” said Adam.
Without her signature blue waves and commitment to style, there will be a big hole in the “Front Row”.

American Crew’s education manager, Dominique Rohde came to Ethos’ Oldham Street salon to demo on our models Brent and Sam. Brent had a mid-length textured look with a short fringe while Sam had a clippered pompadour like style. Both models looked good in front of the camera but as of yet still haven’t received any offers for future jobs…..
Chorlton stylist Brent treated the Ethos assistants to a creative session styling day where they had to produce a mood board, look and presentation on their chosen theme. Themes included ‘Asian Beach’, ‘Vintage Beauty’ and ’50′s Afro’. Assistants were only allowed to use Kevin Murphy products such as beach look texture spray HAIR. RESORT, volumising mousse BODY. BUILDER and KM’s strong hold finishing spray SESSION. SPRAY. Check out some of the pictures below!
